Homework for 8/31/22

Hello Middle School!

I apologize for the late blog post; we had a very busy night in our own home and I am just getting down to work.  Hopefully you wrote your homework down in your agenda as I have been asking you to everyday!  Again, please be sure you are bringing your portfolio, journal, and text to class everyday.  

6th religion

-Attention:  this is a change!!  Unit 1 words are due by Unit One Test.  There are 4 chapters in Unit 1.  We will have a Chapter 1 Test, next week.  I will give a test date at the end of this week.

6th science

-Journal #1: About Me

Topic: Write 1 thing you are grateful for about SFAS. 1 thing you are excited to learn about in science. 1 thing that will challenge you in science.   (note: please remember you had time to do this in class today as the Bellringer, so this is ONLY homework if not completed in class)

-Journal #2: Observations about class; you must have 3 observations.

7th science

-vocab from Nature of Science (NOS) Lesson 1 due on the day of the quiz.  Currently planned for 9/8, possible to move forward or back.

8th science

-No class today, see yesterday's homework blog for details.

Homework for 8/30/22

 Hello MS Science and 6th religion,

Please remember you need to have your textbook, portfolio and journal in class EVERY DAY.  I have had many of you on all levels not bringing your class materials each day.  This information was included in my first day welcome slides as well as being reminded in class several times on all levels.  If you are not prepared for class, it will affect your participation grade.

Homework is as follows:

6th religion

-if you did not have your completed journal cover, that MUST be shown to be tomorrow or you will get a homework warning.

-if you did not have your journal in class yesterday, you must complete the vine activity for homework and it is due tomorrow. 

-Unit 1 vocab words will be due by the day of our first quiz, tentatively scheduled for 9/8.  A list of words will be given out in class tomorrow, Wednesday.

6th science

-Your journal cover, textbook cover, and lab contract were all due today!  If you were missing your journal cover today, you MUST have it tomorrow or it will be a homework warning.  These were all given as assignments on day 1.

7th science

-Your journal cover, textbook cover, and lab contract were all due today!  If you were missing your journal cover today, you MUST have it tomorrow or it will be a homework warning.  These were all given as assignments on day 1.

-if you did not finish your "I wonder" journal entry today, please have that completed for tomorrow.

Hello Middle School Science and 6th Religion!

Happy Monday! I hope you had a great weekend!  I was at softball with my daughters and we enjoyed some pool time together as well.

A couple reminders:

• Your journal and portfolio must be in class every day.  It does you no good at home.  If it's at home, you will have extra homework.  Save yourself some time and bring it in!
• Homework is due by the start of the next class period unless otherwise stated.  Please do not force me to give you a homework warning!!

Check below for your homework:

Hey Middle School Science and 6th grade Religion!!

Thanks for a GREAT first week!  I have enjoyed getting to know you and I'm looking forward to the year we will have together!  I will post homework assignments here, but this does not replace you writing information down in your agenda as well.

6th grade Science:

No Class with me on Monday, you will be in Literature.

1. Journal Cover due 8/30.

• Please be sure to do it on computer paper.
• It needs to have your name, number, subject, and up to 3 pictures having to do with Earth Science.
• It can be made on your computer and printed out or hand-drawn and colored as desired.
• Please cut it out and glue it to the cover of your journal.  It should fit on the cover with a small border left so the paper is not coming off the edge of the journal front cover. (see example)

• Put time in, this is one of your first homework assignments. Show me what kind of student you are!

2. Textbook Covered by 8/30

• Fabric cover or brown paper bag.  No contact paper!

3. Lab Contract due 8/30

• must be signed by you AND your parents!

6th grade Religion

Finish "Let the Son Shine In" journal entry if not completed in class

7th Grade Science
